God’s Nature Is In His Power!
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him” (Acts 10:38)
A closer look at the above verse brings an interesting insight
While it lets us in on the fact that the works of God are attested to by power evidenced in the sick being healed and the oppressed set free, it calls our attention also to an often overlooked fact
Notice how the writer Dr Luke helps us realise the distinctiveness in the earthly ministry of the lord Jesus
He was no犀利士
t the first man to walk in power
Many others had walked in power in the name of God (bearing divine authority)
He was however the first to fully marry the demonstration of that power with the true nature and character of God
Observe how that he used that power to do one thing and one thing only…..good
Beyond and behind the demonstrations of power was a vital message given for the sole purpose of liberating hearts from error
It is that God is light (perpetually good) and in him is no darkness (evil) at all (1 John 1:5)
He used power to call attention always to God’s character of infinite goodness which had been maligned through the wrong actions of men
No other man called of God who spoke for and on behalf of God successfully conducted this marriage of God’s true character and demonstration of power because they were limited by knowledge and sin consciousness
None of them had a clear revelation of who God truly is until the Son came and reintroduced him to us as father
His message wasn’t reported speech like all the others who came before him
He spoke with authority as no one prior to him did because he is the father explaining himself without ambiguity
Today in christ we are God’s workmanship for the very same purpose of propagating his character of goodness as true sons ( Ephesians 2:10)
We move power not to show off but to display the father’s nature of unchanging goodness in a changing world
I trust this to help clear up any misconception you may have which might have been produced through the inconsistency we see in the actions of men who walked in power in the holy scriptures and in our present day
May your week be filled with his power in mighty demonstration
Amen!
